Qazaq Air carried its first commercial passengers on a flight between Almaty and Astana on Aug. 27, 2015 and today more than 650,000 people have flown on the airline’s Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft.
Since the beginning of 2018 Qazaq Air managed to increase passenger traffic by 41 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 210,000 passengers. At the same time, the average load factor was 80 percent, which is 7 percentage points higher than last year while maintaining on time performance.
Note that by the end of this year Qazaq Air plans to have transported 700,000 passengers, remaining the fastest growing airline in Kazakhstan.
"Today we can say with confidence that in three years Qazaq Air has achieved its main goal - the airline has provided Kazakhstan citizens with safe, affordable regional air transportation, especially in those parts of Kazakhstan where there was a shortage of air transportation. We are grateful to our passengers for their faith, support and choice of Qazaq Air," said founding CEO of Qazaq Air Blair Treherne Pollock.
"We are not standing still; next year we plan to increase not only our fleet of aircraft, but also the geography of flights by including the most popular cities of neighbouring countries in the Qazaq Air route network," Pollock said.
