American Airlines Resumes Nonstop Flights to Philadelphia
As more travelers continue to return to the skies, American Airlines resumed nonstop flights between Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) on April 2. The airline is using a CRJ-700 outfitted with 65 seats in a two-cabin configuration for the reinstated nonstop service.
“We are grateful for our partnership with American Airlines and we’re thankful that our customers can enjoy safe and efficient nonstop service between Birmingham and Philadelphia.” said Ronald F. Mathieu, Birmingham Airport Authority president and CEO. “This announcement is welcomed news as we are seeing a steady rise in travel demand. We are ready to offer our customers an easy, convenient, and safe travel experience as they resume travel wherever and whenever they are ready.”
As travelers are ready to return to the skies, American Airlines provides resources needed to help travelers understand requirements for travel, preflight testing resources and more, all making travel easier to manage. Customers can visit Prepared for the Air to get started.
“As more customers begin to take to the skies, American is eager to relaunch service from Birmingham to Philadelphia — enhancing connectivity to destinations across the U.S. and Caribbean,” said Lakshman Amaranayaka, American’s vice president of PHL Hub Operations. “Customers should feel confident that we’ve taken every effort to ensure the well-being of customers throughout their travels while offering more flexibility and choice than ever before.”
American Airlines will operate the nonstop flight four times a week during the month of April and will begin daily nonstop service in May. American currently offers nonstop flights from Birmingham to Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and Washington, D.C., allowing travelers to connect throughout the network to multiple destinations. As part of the American Airlines multitiered Clean Commitment, the airline is making it easier to travel with confidence, giving customers peace of mind when traveling.
Many layers of protection continue to remain in place throughout the travel journey.
