Korean Air to Resume Flights to Hawaii After 19-Month Suspension
Korean Air will resume its flights to Hawaii from Nov. 3, after the airline suspended the operation on April 3, 2020, due to COVID-19.
The Incheon-Honolulu service (KE053) will operate three days a week, departing from Incheon International Airport every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 8:35 p.m, and arriving at Honolulu at 10 a.m. The Honolulu-Incheon flight (KE054) will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and depart from Honolulu at 11:40 a.m.
Korean Air said it had decided to resume the Hawaiian route as travel demand to Hawaii has steadily increased. The number of Korean tourists visiting Hawaii has grown from 200 in January 2021 to 1,000 per month recently.
Pre-pandemic, Korean Air operated 14 flights a week (two daily flights) between Incheon and Hawaii.
With commitment to on-board health and safety as a priority, Korean Air will continue to monitor regional and international pandemic restrictions, and consider resuming more suspended routes.
