Delaware North, MarketPlace Development and joint-venture partners Chase Concessions, Green Clay Concessions, and City Fresh Foods today formally celebrated the opening of Bruins Bar at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Bruins Bar, which officially opened on March 15, is a new sports bar and restaurant concept themed after Boston’s beloved National Hockey League team and is located in Terminal A near gate 14.
The 1,430-square-foot restaurant can accommodate both full-service seated dining and bar dining with a menu and atmosphere that have a distinctly Boston feel. The menu was designed in collaboration with chefs from the Bruins’ home at TD Garden and features local favorites such as lobster rolls, gourmet hot dogs, flatbread pizzas, and crab cakes. The full bar offers beer, wine, and locally inspired specialty crafted cocktails such as Honey Bea Tea, Boston Mule, B’s Knees, and the 1924.
The restaurant’s décor features graphics celebrating Bruins team history, pieces of team memorabilia and an interactive media wall where guests can view pictures and videos of favorite players or keep up with current team stats.
“Delaware North has proudly served Boston Bruins fans for over 40 years, first at the original Boston Garden and now at TD Garden,” said Charlie Jacobs, CEO of Delaware North’s Boston Holdings. “So we are thrilled to now offer a combination of Delaware North’s culinary expertise and the Bruins storied history at another Boston institution, Logan International Airport.”
No stranger to Boston, Delaware North is the owner and operator of TD Garden, which is home to the Bruins and the NBA’s Boston Celtics and hosts more than 3.5 million visitors and 200 live events each year. Delaware North also operates seasonal programming at Boston’s City Hall Plaza and is in the process of developing a 1.5 million-square-foot, mixed-use project adjacent to the Garden, called The Hub on Causeway.
Bruins Bar is part of 12 food, beverage and retail outlets being rolled out by Delaware North alongside airport concessions developer and manager MarketPlace Development at BOS over the next two years. Other concepts include restaurants created by acclaimed Boston chef Michael Schlow, Tico and Alta Strada, being adapted for the airport, and other Boston favorites Mija Cantina from Faneuil Hall and Monica’s Mercato from the North End.
“Our team is extremely proud to welcome Bruins Bar as the latest addition to the Boston Logan Concessions Program at Boston Logan. We remain committed to offering a taste of Boston and New England to travelers from all over the world and we are confident they will enjoy a unique dining and sports bar atmosphere that captures the essence of this city and one of Boston’s most iconic sports teams,” said Paul McGinn, President, MarketPlace Development.
Overall, Delaware North’s travel division operates food, beverage and retail services in more than 30 airports and travel hubs across three continents, including some of the world’s busiest airports such as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and London’s Heathrow Airport. The company’s 300 total airport outlets include more than 200 brands — a mix of award-winning proprietary concepts, local and national partnerships and franchises.
