Paradies Lagardère and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport Join Forces to Fight Hunger
Paradies Lagardère and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport are excited to announce a new initiative designed to help fight hunger in the city. The program, which launched on October 15, allows travellers, as well as airline and airport employees, to purchase and donate convenience foods, healthy snacks, HABA, beverages, and other items, which will then be distributed to Winnipeg Harvest.
Quotes: “Paradies Lagardère is excited to launch this partnership with Winnipeg Harvest at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO, Paradies Lagardère. “We’ve received positive feedback regarding our initiatives to fight hunger at the Edmonton and Calgary airports from both our partners and travelers. Paradies Lagardère has also recently started a similar initiative at the Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport. We’re always looking for new opportunities to make a positive and impactful difference in the lives of our employees, business partners and customers.”
“WAA is excited to work with a partner like Paradies Lagardère to leverage the airport’s potential to meet the needs of the community we serve,” said Barry Rempel, WAA President and CEO. “This partnership is another way for our team, airport employees, and travelers to give back and support the great work of Winnipeg Harvest.”
“Harvest is grateful for this new partnership with Paradies Lagardère and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport and are excited to receive these generous donations of snacks, food and hygiene items,” said Grace Weigelt, Director of Community Engagement, Winnipeg Harvest. “The items will be distributed to 110 schools and partner agencies working to alleviate poverty and food insecurity. These donations will create positive impact in the communities throughout the province and will help support many programs to help ensure that children and families are not going without. On behalf of Harvest and the community agencies who will benefit from these donations, thank you.”
