New Amenities at The Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport
Whether for business or for pleasure, air travel is such an integral part of 21st -century life. For a nursing mother, the “normal” stresses of air travel can be exacerbated when they travel with their infant children.
MFR has joined a growing list of airports with personal spaces designed and set aside for breastfeeding moms.
Our Nursing Moms Room is located in the passenger boarding area and is equipped with an AC power outlet, a table, and a chair for the comfort of mothers and babies.
Airport Director Jerry Brienza stated, “we are always looking to improve the customer experience, and providing adequate accommodations for nursing mothers is something that is important to us.”
Another new amenity at MFR is the new liquid disposal bin. Two bins, located at the Security Checkpoint, allow passengers to dump their unfinished drinks prior to the screening process and then keep or recycle their bottle or cup.
The concept is simple: Travelers dump their liquids into what appears to be a simple basin. The liquid then flows down a tube and into a container. When full, airport staff disconnect the tank and dispose of the liquids down a safe drain. “We wanted to improve our recycling diversion rates, make the disposal process safer and positively impact the customer experience”, stated Jason Foster.
