Bronzeville Crossing Officially Opens at MKE
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson, and several distinguished members of the Black Caucus of the County Board of Supervisors celebrated the grand opening of the Bronzeville Crossing retail shop at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE).
Located post-security on Concourse C, Bronzeville Crossing highlights the collaboration between MKE and retail partner Paradies Lagardère to source local products from Milwaukee County neighborhoods and make them available to travelers. This partnership also highlights Milwaukee County’s vision to achieve racial equity by supporting local businesses owned by people of color.
“I’m honored to be a part of this historic ribbon cutting which not only advances our racial equity goals, but also shows Milwaukee County’s commitment to helping black-owned businesses thrive,” Crowley said. “The airport will source locally crafted goods highlighting the Bronzeville neighborhood’s rich history and showing off the many talents of residents who work there and call Bronzeville home.”
Bronzeville Crossing is the latest store to open as part of MKE’s major refresh to the retail and dining options available to travelers.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled that Bronzeville Crossing is our latest retail shop to open as part of this major refresh,” said Airport Director Brian Dranzik. “Bronzeville Crossing is more than just a retail location; it’s a place where travelers can come together in the spirit of the neighborhood. The maps, graphics, and music in the new store take travelers on a journey inside the heart of Bronzeville while providing a top-notch shopping experience for passengers.”
