Effective May 1, Michael R. Mullaney is the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Fraport USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, and a leading developer of award-winning airport retail, food and beverage concession programs.
Michael Mullaney brings over 30 years of aviation experience, spanning concession development, airport operations, aviation consultancy and education. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of corporate strategy and development for the Hudson Group, where throughout his 18-year tenure he led the company’s strategic direction, business development, governmental affairs and business diversity divisions. Prior to Hudson, Mullaney oversaw the concession leasing and store reconstruction programs as the Manager of the Commercial and Business Development for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Mullaney succeeds Brett Kelly, Fraport USA’s acting CEO and senior vice president of operations, who after many dedicated and distinguished years of service will be leaving the company at the end of May.

Michael brings a uniquely rounded experience and strong strategic perspective to Fraport USA. He was instrumental in successfully expanding Hudson’s store portfolio to over 1,000 stores at 88 locations generating nearly $2 billion in annual sales and with over $80 million in annual store construction capex. Additionally, Michael was a consultant for the planning firms Aviation Planning Associates and TransPlan, Inc. and began his career at the Florida Department of Transportation’s Multimodal System Planning Bureau. Michael is a member of the ACI-NA (Airports Council International North America) Commercial Management Committee and serves on the advisory board of the School of Aeronautics at the Florida Institute of Technology – where he also earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management/Flight. A true aviation enthusiast, Michael is a former flight instructor and commercial pilot.
