Indhira Figuereo, who has served as the Northeast region aviation practice leader for the past five years at WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, has been promoted to national aviation market leader.
Figuereo brings more than two decades of experience in the aviation industry, specializing in transportation infrastructure, specifically landside/airside airport design, and program and construction management. She joined WSP in October 2016.
In her new leadership role Figuereo, with the support of the WSP aviation team, will collaborate with clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, developing solutions that address their specific needs to modernize facilities for passengers and air cargo, preparing them for future growth in the industry.
“Indhira brings deep aviation experience and exceptional client service – as well as a collaborative and inclusive leadership style – all of which will strategically position WSP well for future growth,” said Sofia Berger, WSP Transportation national business line leader. “The pandemic hit the aviation industry particularly hard, but we are encouraged to see the market picking up steam, and Indhira and our entire aviation team are excited and ready to help our clients achieve their capital development plans.”
With more than 22 years of experience, Figuereo has served as a principal in charge, project manager, program/construction manager and civil engineer for aviation, facilities, highway and marine projects throughout the Northeast. She serves as WSP’s principal-in-charge for the Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal One Redevelopment Program. Her aviation experience also includes work for LaGuardia Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport and Westchester County Airport, and has extensive experience with international transportation projects in countries such as Australia, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Prior to joining WSP, she was an associate vice president and aviation operations manager for the metropolitan New York district of a large international engineering firm.
