EAU Passenger Traffic Continues to Soar
The official numbers are in and they continue to show positive growth including an impressive airline completion rate of 100 percent in June. Total airline passengers using the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport increased 7 percent for the first half of 2016 when compared to the same time period in 2015. Even more remarkable is the completion factor as reported by United Airlines. For the month of June, United Airlines reported zero cancelled flights at the airport.
“Passengers continue to report better air fares and increased destination options with United Airlines. With the reliability United demonstrated in June, travelers can have confidence that flying locally is one of the best ways to begin their trip,” states Airport Director Charity Zich. “We continue to encourage the public to check air fare from the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport first and compare it with the true cost of flying from another airport.”
Total aircraft operations or takeoffs and landings have also increased 10 percent for the first six months of 2016.
