With the recent signing of an official contract, MAG USA announces that, after a competitive process which began in 2019, they have been awarded the opportunity to design, build and operate an Escape Lounge at Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). In a joint venture with Gideon Toal Management and Superior Hospitality Group, MAG USA anticipates this lounge to open in Terminal 3 post-security near the end of this year.
Escape Lounge FLL, as with all Escape Lounges, will be a common-use lounge meaning that travelers from any airline or status can enjoy the amenities. Lounge offerings will include hot and cold chef-curated food, premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ample power outlets, high-speed Wi-Fi, up-to-the-second flight information and access to 7,000+ digital publications in 60+ languages from 120+ countries. Plush and relaxing seating throughout this over 5,000-square-foot lounge will be paired with airfield views and an aesthetic uniquely inspired by South Florida.
Strict cleaning and safety protocols will be in effect at Escape Lounge FLL to keep all guests safe while still providing a relaxing retreat. Protocols include mask requirements, social distancing guides, ample sanitizing stations, digital only reading options and maître d’ style food service which delivers food directly to each guest’s seat to not only decrease movement around the lounge but to provide guests with a more personalized experience.
Access to Escape Lounge FLL is open to all travelers for $40 if booked in advance at EscapeLounges.com or $45 if paid at the door. Escape Lounges are part of the American Express Global Lounge Collection SM, giving American Express® Platinum Card Members complimentary access, along with two guests, to all U.S. locations. In addition, American Express Green Card Members receive up to a $100 statement credit per calendar year for lounge access booked through LoungeBuddy.
“We’re thrilled to bring Escape Lounges to South Florida with the recent opening of Escape Lounge PBI and now the announcement of Escape Lounge FLL. Escape Lounges bring all of the amenities that travelers desire into one controlled space, delivering the most enjoyable pre and post-flight experience,” said Martin Jones, CEO of MAG USA.
“Expanding our offerings of premium amenities for airport guests is a long-term goal of FLL, and we are pleased that our new common-use lounge in Terminal 3 is nearing reality,” said Mark Gale, CEO/director of aviation. “For a nominal fee, Escape Lounge FLL can be a retreat for any airline passenger seeking an upgraded airport experience in between flights. The new lounge will join loyalty clubs and lounges from United and Delta, which operate in Terminals 1 and 2 respectively.”
“Passengers in Terminal 4 will also be able to access Escape Lounge FLL via the connector walkway between both terminals,” Gale noted.
“We are excited to partner with MAG USA to bring an Escape Lounge to FLL, where guests can enjoy the privacy of the lounge and experience our team’s heart for hospitality,” said Alvin Brown, president of Gideon Toal Management Services.
