A small aircraft crashed off a runway at BWI Marshall Airport on Saturday, a spokesperson confirmed.
There were no “major” injuries reported to the three individuals onboard the aircraft, said Jonathan Dean, director of communications for the Maryland Aviation Administration.
Dean said in an email that the single-engine aircraft, Piper PA-28 Cherokee, crashed at the end of the general aviation runway. The BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department responded, he said, along with Airport Operations personnel and mutual aid support.
There was no impact on airline operations on Saturday. The Federal Aviation Administration was notified.
