International Aviation Ready to Get Onboard of the GRF Applicability with Boschung Atlas
Boschung on June 16, announced the launch of the new automated system to fulfill ICAO’s requirements for runway condition reporting GRF. With over 50 years of experience in the field of runway condition detection, the Boschung group now offers a comprehensive solution for the applicability of the Global Reporting Format (GRF), the new globally harmonized method brought into being by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), named Atlas.
Taking advantages of new sensors like the pavement sensors IT-RWY for runway condition detection and r-snow for snow depth measurement and snow type detection, Atlas provide the runway condition codes, as well as the contaminant type, depth, and coverage with an unequal accuracy and without the need for runway closure. With 24/7 availability, the system is modular and scalable so that it can be adapted to all kinds of airports in all climate regions.
