Helitech International to Introduce Skills Focus to the 2015 Event
The skills needs within the rotorcraft industry are being addressed through a pivotal new partnership between Aviation Skills Partnership and Helitech International, run in association with the European Helicopter Association.
This new partnership takes the form of a Learning & Skills Zone at Helitech International 2015 at ExCeL London, 6-8 October 2015. The Zone will promote rotorcraft careers, frameworks and other opportunities to young people to increase the flow of talent into the sector. The Zone will feature a 'Skills Theatre' where visitors can learn about the different careers in the industry, as well as meet with key training providers and industry experts.
The partnership will help secure growth in the skills required to sustain the development of the rotorcraft industry, as well as ensure collaboration in the development of international skills programmes to meet the needs of employers and employees in the rotorcraft sector.
The organisations have also agreed to launch the first annual 'Rotorcraft Skills Awards' as a sub-set of Aviation Skills Partnership's new Aviation Skills Awards®. This will also run for the first time at the 2015 event. The aim of the Awards is to promote career pathways in to the sector and recognise organisations who have worked hard at improving skills across the rotorcraft sector.
Simon Witts, Chief Executive of Aviation Skills Partnership said: "I am delighted that we have entered into a partnership to work together and I look forward to jointly shaping our innovative industry-led programme. There is a critical need for skilled rotorcraft staff and we look forward to helping a new generation to gain the skills that they need to enter this exciting sector, as well as supporting those already in the industry as they progress".
John Hyde, Exhibition Director for Helitech International, Reed Exhibitions said: "This strategic partnership comes at a crucial time to meet the industry skills and training gap. Helitech International is the hub where the international rotorcraft industry meets and does business in Europe. In association with our key partners, the European Helicopter Association and Aviation Skills Partnership, we aim to provide a much needed education and training focus within the event".
