Gain Access to Key Policymakers at NATA's 2016 Aviation Business Conference

March 9, 2016
The show is June 8 to 10 in Washington, D.C.
Congress is considering legislation that threatens the entire general aviation community, including aviation businesses. We need you here in D.C. this June to meet with top aviation policymakers, to remind them of the importance of general aviation to their community and how the proposal threatens your business and the good-paying jobs you create. On February 11th, 2016 the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee approved H.R. 4441, the Aviation Innovation, Reform, and Reauthorization (AIRR) Act. The legislation’s central tenant is the creation of a user fee-funded, not-for-profit air traffic control corporation and represents a danger to aviation business:The House Transportation Committee proposal exempts from user fees some – but not all – segments of general aviation. For example, air charter and other commercial GA activity will be expected to pay user fees determined by an airline dominated board of directors.
An ATC corporation, controlled in perpetuity by its airline dominated board, will place general aviation in constant peril from efforts by most major airlines to cost shift and deny general aviation access to airspace and airports.
The proposal will undermine the national air transportation system by denying rural America access to cutting-edge technology, and it will saddle the traveling public with ever increasing fees.NATA urges you to contact your elected representatives and express your opposition to this proposal via www.nata.aero/nocorporation, but there is more you can do.

NATA’s Aviation Business Conference includes time on Capitol Hill as part of the association's annual "Congressional Fly-In." The day's events will begin with a briefing from Washington's top aviation association CEO's before heading to the U.S. Capitol building to meet with key aviation policymakers. Later that evening, we return to Capitol Hill for NATA's Congressional Reception, another opportunity to discuss key issues affecting the aviation business community and to promote the value of your business.
Register for NATA's 2016 Aviation Business Conference today to meet with your elected representatives this June about the risks this legislation poses to your business.
