RAA Announces New Director of Government Affairs
Washington, DC, July 12, 2017 —The Regional Airline Association, the industry trade association representing North American regional airlines, today announced the appointment of Drew Jacoby Lemos as Director of Government Affairs. Jacoby Lemos brings nine years’ experience in government and policy, having most recently served in the office of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Through this service, and prior roles working with House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Nita Lowey and House Minority Whip/former Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Jacoby Lemos has cultivated a sharp political instinct and superior knowledge of the legislative process.
In his new role, Jacoby Lemos will draw on his policy experience and political acumen to advocate for policies that protect regional airlines’ critical role in the U.S. Airspace and advance measures that promote high structure in pilot training while safely reopening the commercial pilot pipeline. “Drew’s diverse and extensive policy expertise will serve RAA well on the Hill and his appointment marks an important addition to the RAA’s policy team at a critical time,” said RAA President Faye Malarkey Black. “The regional airline industry provides for the safe connection of travelers from communities of every size to the global air transportation network and offers the only source of air service to two-thirds of the nation’s airports. RAA is taking every measure to ensure the continuation of safe and reliable air service to every corner of the country. Drew’s experience and considerable advocacy skills will greatly expand RAA’s advocacy capabilities as we work to serve our member airlines and their passengers.”
Drew began his career with a stint at the Podesta Group and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.
