SAE International Publishes New Technical Standard to Achieve Maintenance Credits Using Aerospace Propulsion Health Management Systems

WARRENDALE, Pa., Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SAE International announces the publishing of the new standard, "ARP5987: A Process for Utilizing Aerospace Propulsion Health Management Systems for Maintenance Credit."

The process detailed within ARP5987 can be applied to commercial and military applications. It applies to the entire end-to-end EHM system throughout its lifecycle, covering on-board and on-ground elements.

AR5987 is designed to provide a process to achieve maintenance credits in a consistent way and will help regulators carry out assessments of the merits of a maintenance credit application with a view to provide approval.
