The New England Air Museum has elected two new members to its Board of Directors:
Dick Koenig served as vice president/publisher of FLYING Magazine for 27 years, the longest-tenured publisher in the 93-year history of the aviation magazine. Over the course of a five decade-plus professional career, Dick has built a reputation as a highly-skilled and accomplished leader, successful executive and passionate aviation advocate in the aviation publishing, sales and marketing, education, not-for-profit and fundraising fields.
A college ROTC flight training program led Koenig to the world of aviation, allowing him to fulfill his dream of becoming a pilot. He served six years on active duty as a U.S. Army officer flying helicopter gunships; he served two tours in Vietnam, one in Korea and retired after an additional 15 years in the Army Guard flying CH-54 SkyCranes. He is a licensed 5000-hour ATP and CFII-rated fixed and rotary wing pilot, a military flight instructor and Army Master Aviator.
Koenig has held positions at aviation information leader Jeppeson, Commemorative Air Force, and Corporate Angel Network. He serves or has served on the boards of Women in Aviation International, ERAU President’s Advisory board, the Lindberg Foundation, National Aeronautical Association (NAA) and Sun ‘N Fun - the second largest U.S. aviation convention and airshow.
Joseph Wolnick is chief investment officer at JPW Investments. He is an experienced investment professional with a demonstrated history of working in the investment management industry, with skills in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), structured finance, valuation, due diligence and alternative investments.
Wolnick previously worked with several financial firms in Connecticut, New York and Texas, including Halcyon Asset Backed Advisors, Bayside Capital Company and Bayview Franchise Mortgage Acceptance. He began his career at Bank of Boston Connecticut in corporate credit risk management.
Wolnick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology, both from Central Connecticut State University.
"The New England Air Museum is proud to add the leadership commitment of Dick and Joe to our Board of Directors" said Kate Collins, the museum's governance committee chair. "As we look to increasing the visibility of our museum and the impact of our educational programs, their combined experience and personal networks will be great assets to us."
