NBAA Honors Bill Carey With Aviation Journalism Award
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) awarded one of its top honors for excellence in journalism, the Gold Wing Award for Journalism Excellence, just ahead of the official start for the 2022 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Orlando, FL.
Business and Commercial Aviation Senior Editor Bill Carey was honored for his article “AAM on the Ground: Do FBOs Have a Role?”
This timely piece detailed the many ways that airports, FBOs and aviation support facilities are preparing for the introduction of advanced air mobility (AAM) vehicles. The extensively researched article provides an in-depth overview of all the steps needed to develop the infrastructure to support electrically powered AAM and fixed-wing aircraft.
“We are honored to recognize Bill Carey with our Gold Wing Award,” Bolen said. “As we continue to witness the exciting evolution of business aviation and new entrants to our industry, his informative and detailed reporting, for this and other stories, has provided a comprehensive analysis about these emerging technologies.”
A veteran journalist with more than three decades of experience covering numerous facets of aviation, Carey previously received NBAA’s Gold Wing Award in 2017 for his coverage of the unmanned aircraft systems industry.
