ACI Jet announced Nathen Steiger as general manager of its John Wayne Airport FBO location. An industry veteran and pilot, Steiger brings a diverse aviation background in both FBO management and flight operations to his new role.
Initially beginning his career as a ticket agent at the McClellan-Palomar Airport (CRQ) in Carlsbad, California, Steiger’s enthusiasm for aviation led him to the cockpit where he eventually became a charter pilot for Schubach Aviation, a Part 135 Charter/Management company. By 2006, Steiger moved into the FBO management field where he served as the assistant general manager for Premier Jet at CRQ for some 10 years. Most recently, Steiger served as the assistant general manager for Jet Source- also an FBO at CRQ- until its acquisition by a national FBO chain.
“I am honored to be a member of the ACI Jet management team at John Wayne Airport”, says Steiger. “ACI Jet is an outstanding company- one focused on delivering service second-to-none to its customers.”
Since being awarded an FBO lease through a competitive RFQ process by the Orange County Board of Supervisors, ACI Jet has transformed the general aviation and business aviation experience at John Wayne Airport. Utilizing a fair and transparent fuel pricing strategy as well as an innovative hangar use program, ACI Jet has revitalized GA and business aviation at the airport and brought increased revenue to the county and local community. Adds Steiger, “It is nothing short of astounding what ACI Jet has accomplished to revitalize business and general aviation in such a short time at Orange County, and I’m excited to be part of the next chapter.”
Steiger’s selection as general manager is part of a general restructuring of ACI Jet’s FBO management team, which also sees Joe Daichendt promoted to senior vice president of FBOs. Daichendt, who oversaw start-up FBO operations post-RFQ award will remain based at ACI Jet’s at John Wayne Airport.
“As we began our search to select a new GM for our John Wayne location, Nathen Steiger quickly emerged as someone who shares our safety culture and customer service focus, and has the management experience and technical knowledge necessary to excel in the high-paced environment of our John Wayne FBO” said Andrew Robillard, vice president, FBO and facilities for ACI Jet. “We’re certain that Nathen will shine as the general manager of ACI Jet at John Wayne Airport,” notes Robillard.
Steiger begins his new role with ACI Jet on July 23, and will report to Robillard.
