Zetec Webinar Shows How to Maximize the Benefits of TFM and FMC in Ultrasonic Inspections
Zetec Inc. has posted an on-demand webinar on how to maximize the capabilities of full matrix capture (FMC) and the total focusing method (TFM) algorithm in aerospace and other industries.
The webinar, presented by Guy Maes, sales engineer director UT for Zetec, is designed for NDT service providers, technicians, and asset-owners who are looking for insight and guidance on how to best apply FMC and TFM for a code-compliant, high-quality inspection. The session will highlight new tools for Zetec’s TOPAZ64 phased array ultrasonic testing (UT) instrument and UltraVision software that are designed to maximize inspection efficiency and accuracy.
The webinar takes about 40 minutes to complete and covers these topics:
- Principles of FMC data recording and advanced focusing techniques including TFM
- The benefits of FMC and advanced focusing, with a discussion of the conditions required to maximize their potential
- Demonstrations of the new acoustic field tool and FMC raw data saving
- Case studies that illustrate the use of advanced FMC data reconstruction algorithms across a range of inspection applications, including oil and gas and power generation
“FMC and TFM are becoming more readily available in industry-leading portable phased array UT units and applied more frequently in various industries,” Maes said. “TOPAZ64 and UltraVision have new tools that can maximize the performance of FMC and TFM with the added benefit of increasing productivity simply by reducing the number of scans and manipulations.”
