Her expertise spans airfield geometric design, planning, innovative construction phasing, and safety planning, ensuring projects meet FAA standards and maintain smooth airport operations.
“From my first project on an airport design team, I could tell that there’s a passion that people bring to this industry that I feel is unique from other fields, she said. “Whether they are engineers like me, or work for an airline, are a pilot, or on an airport’s staff. It motivates me when I see how everyone works together to help each other solve problems and run these mini cities that are the airports.”
Warnimont’s work has been recognized with several awards, including the ACPA Gold National Award of Excellence for her efforts on Detroit Metro’s Runway 3L/21R rehabilitation project. Additionally, she collaborated on the award-winning Indianapolis Runway 5R/23L project, which achieved the first-ever Envision Platinum certification for airfields. She also contributed to setting safety and phasing standards now used across projects at Wayne County Airport Authority.
Beyond her technical accomplishments, Warnimont demonstrates a commitment to mentoring and industry involvement. She is active in the Women’s Transportation Seminar’s Chicago chapter and the Airport Consultants Council’s Engineering Committee, helping to shape industry safety guidelines. Her passion for aviation is driven by a love for learning and travel, and she values the collaborative spirit that characterizes the field. As she balances her professional and personal life, Warnimont is inspired to empower future industry leaders, hoping to foster the same growth and confidence in others that she has experienced.
