John Spanjers has been appointed as the new CEO of Pinnacle Airlines Corp., the Memphis-based parent of Pinnacle Airlines, Colgan Air and Mesaba Aviation. According to Pinnacle Airlines Corp., Spanjers will assume this role from June 1 and will succeed Sean Menke.
At present, Spanjers is the COO of Pinnacle Airlines. He has been at this role since September 2011. Before joining Pinnacle, he worked as President of Mesaba Aviation. Menke has chosen to resign from the company on June 1 and will work closely with Spanjers and the other members of Pinnacle's leadership team to support a seamless transition over the next five weeks, said Pinnacle.
According to Pinnacle, this transition won't impact the timeline of the company s Chapter 11 proceedings or its capacity to successfully come out from bankruptcy.Ltd.
