Airbus Finds New Chief Financial Officer at Plastics Group Covestro
Frankfurt — Plastics group Covestro is losing its chief financial officer to Airbus. Thomas Toepfer is leaving the company early, on August 31, and is to move to aircraft manufacturer Airbus to take up the same post, Covestro said on Wednesday evening.
There, he is to succeed Dominik Asam. Toepfer's contract was actually due to run until the end of March 2026, and the search for a successor was ongoing, Covestro said.
Airbus' current finance chief Asam has already begun his move to SAP, and is to leave the aircraft manufacturer at the beginning of March.
Asam only took up his post as Airbus' chief financial officer in April 2019. Alongside chief executive Guillaume Faury, he led the company through the financial challenges of the pandemic, which hit the aviation industry particularly hard.
