AirAsia Selects Eaton to Provide AC Motorpumps for New Order of A320 Passenger Jets and Retrofits of In-Service Aircraft
CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has been selected by AirAsia to supply AC motorpumps for 75 new Airbus A320 jetliners and AC motorpump retrofits for 100 in-service A320s. The contract highlights Eaton’s continuing expansion in the Asia-Pacific aerospace market and its global leadership in aircraft component quality, service and reliability. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

Eaton sets the standard for hydraulic pump reliability, with average reliability exceeding 50,000 hours MTBF. Eaton’s AC motorpumps are sole source on Airbus A330, A340 and A380 platforms.
In the contract award for supplier-furnished equipment, Eaton will deliver AC motorpumps for AirAsia’s new order of 75 A320s. AirAsia plans to proactively retrofit 100 AC motorpumps this year and perform an additional 100 retrofits on an attrition basis.
