Boeing Shanghai Earns AS9110 Quality Management System Certification
SHANGHAI, Sept. 28, 2012 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd., (Boeing Shanghai) today announced it has earned the AS9110 Quality Management System standard, demonstrating its commitment to high performance, quality products and services and customer satisfaction.
AS9110 certification represents the global standard for aircraft line and heavy maintenance and modification, aircraft component repair and overhaul, fleet management, engineering service and material management service.
“This AS9110 certification signifies our dedication in meeting the highest level of performance and quality to justify the trust our customers place with us,” said Dermot Swan, CEO of Boeing Shanghai. “It elevates Boeing Shanghai to a select level which will support our continuing international MRO business growth.”
Boeing Shanghai invested a year and half in preparation, demonstrating compliance and earning the certification.
The AS9110 standard defines quality systems requirements for aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities as developed by the American National Standards Institute - American Society of Quality National Accreditation Board.
Boeing Shanghai was established in June 2006 as a joint venture between Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines. Boeing Shanghai offers a broad range of services from engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification to material management, and component repair and overhaul. Boeing Shanghai supports customers located throughout the world and plans to open a second hangar in 2014.
