Executive Air Services Receives Acceptance into the Federal Aviation Administration’s Safety Management System Pilot Program
MIAMI, October 7, 2013 – Executive Air Services (EAS), a worldwide aircraft charter and management company, today announced that it has been officially accepted into the Federal Aviation Administration’s Safety Management System (SMS) Pilot Program. With this acceptance, EAS joins a select list of less than 100 other Part 135 charter operators nationwide who are currently enrolled in the program.
The FAA SMS program, which use is required by the nation’s Part 121 air carriers, answers the need for an individually tailored Safety Management System with a focus on self-monitoring. Further, the program allows operators such as EAS to work hand-in-hand with the FAA to increase the amount of safety information which other operators can benefit from through self-monitoring and disclosure.
“We are very proud to be one of a very small group of operators to receive acceptance into this program,” said Jeff Reis, managing director of EAS. "We have worked extremely hard over the last several years developing our SMS, and we’re therefore very pleased to be recognized by the FAA and to know that our program meets the rigorous standards currently used by the airline industry. Such acceptance illustrates our uncompromising dedication to the safety of our entire operation as we continue to deliver the ultimate jet experience.”
