Incorporating tools vital for managing decisions around flight movement in the airport environment, WSI Fusion now provides functionality to streamline gate-to-gate decision making.

ANDOVER, Mass. (January 15, 2013) – WSI Corporation, today announced the release of new winter weather enhancements to WSI Fusion, a proactive and comprehensive flight decision support solution that enables flight operators to operate more safely and efficiently. This release adds a Deicing Risk feature, a Freezing Level Analysis layer, Predictive Taxi Delay Risk feature and a Graphical SNOWTAM layer and other optional features to the WSI Fusion platform.

Incorporating tools vital for managing decisions around flight movement in the airport environment, WSI Fusion now provides functionality to streamline gate-to-gate decision making including:

Deicing Risk feature is a proprietary, WSI developed algorithm that utilizes traditional deicing requirements plus weather observations and forecasts to suggest a probability for deicing requirements.

Freezing Level Analysis layer depicted as a series of contours which represent lines of constant altitude where the temperature is at zero degrees Celsius aloft.

Predictive Taxi Delay Risk feature – this optional feature within the Airport Details tab provides decision makers with data-driven support in an easy to interpret, streamlined manner.

Graphical SNOWTAM layer (the message describing conditions of the runways, taxiways and apron at an aerodrome for winter weather conditions) has been added to International NOTAMs. When a SNOWTAM exists for an airport, users will see full details including segmented values for touchdown, midpoint and rollout for braking action in alignment with the reported runways.

“WSI continues to extend the industry-leading WSI Fusion platforms to provide airlines with a gate-to-gate solution that improve safety and efficiency through all phases of operations. This release is the latest in a series of customer-driven and innovative WSI enhancements to streamline workflow and ensure common situational awareness among key flight stakeholders,” says Mark D. Miller, general manager of aviation, WSI.

In addition, the latest Fusion release offers many more weather and flight tracking enhancements of interest to commercial airlines and corporate flight departments alike.
