Dunlop Aircraft Tyres is to attend the Singapore Airshow next week to show new radial tyres for regional aircraft including the Embraer E-Jet and ATR72.
The company’s products have become more popular with aircraft operators throughout Asia Pacific since it opened a new tyre distribution and retreading facility in China at the end of 2009.
It is now looking to increase its market share with new radial tyres that are a lighter weight and that can offer operators improved landing life.
Among the regional aircraft being supported by Dunlop are Embraer E-Jets and, in the near future, the ATR72. The radial nosewheel tyre for Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft, which will be on show in Singapore, is already in service with major operators, including Flybe in the UK.
“We are making significant progress with the development of new radial tyres for regional and narrow-bodied aircraft operators,” said Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ chairman, Ian Edmondson.
“This product innovation, combined with our new tyre distribution and retreading facility in China, gives aircraft operators increased choice and will ensure the success of Dunlop Aircraft Tyres’ in this expanding market.”
Airlines from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines and Taiwan are among those being served by Dunlop Taikoo (Jinjiang) Aircraft Tyres. These include China Eastern Airways , Lion Air, Spice Jet and Qantas Link.
The Singapore Airshow opens on Tuesday, February 11.
