Trenton, NJ – October 10, 2016 – Mike Harkins has joined Jet East Aviation as the Vice President of Sales Development.
Mike has more than 30 years of industry and leadership experience. He began his career as a licensed A&P and IA maintenance professional in the aviation industry with the U.S. Air Force ultimately taking on the role of Crew Chief for B-52G with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Since then, his leadership, operations and business skills have led to successively larger leadership roles.
He comes to Jet East after five years at one of the leading independent OEM-authorize turbine engine repair and overhaul companies where he was responsible for establishing positive and long-term relations with consumers to achieve sales activities, and increase market share. Prior to that he worked as the Director of Maintenance for a major charter operator for 15 years.
Mike was president of the First State Chapter of PAMA from 2001 to 2011. The chapter won Chapter of the Year awards in 2005 and 2009 during his tenure. He holds numerous FAA Maintenance awards including 2003 Eastern Region AMT of the Year and was the first person to receive FlightSafety International’s Master Technician rating for the Falcon 50.
Mike will be responsible for developing and delivering a strategy that offers us the knowledge and insight to expand business along the East Coast, while liaising with the Jet East team. Harkins will provide sales coverage for Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
