FAA’s David Borcalli and Manson Wong Named Recipients of the 2021 ACC Agency Best Practices Awards
The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) announced the selection of the David Borcalli, Air Traffic Manager, FAA Lindbergh air traffic control tower, and Manson Wong, Program Manager / Engineer with the FAA Los Angeles Airports District Office, for the 2021 ACC Agency Best Practices Award. They have been recognized for their work and dedication in supporting the San Diego International Airport (SAN) Airside Airport Development Plan.
David and Manson were specifically recognized for their engagement and coordination to help mitigate logistical challenges during a shutdown of SAN’s only parallel taxiway to its singe runway during a rehabilitation project. Over 10 months, David and Manson led efforts to refine review and analysis during the design process to ultimately provide safe and efficient aircraft operations during construction. They participated in dozens of coordination meetings to seek input and guidance with stakeholders and their FAA counterparts.
The purpose of the ACC Agency Best Practices Award is to draw attention to the government agency individuals who exemplify teamwork, demonstrate understanding of effective stakeholder interface, and exhibit an ability to be flexible and innovative. The award was presented during the virtual ACC Airports Technical Workshop on Aug. 3.
